doll editorials

Description

I made a lot of this doll clothing from thrift store items. I often start with children’s clothes but have made doll clothes from gloves, shoes, leg warmers, wrist cuffs, dishrags, a purse, a scarf, a turkey bag, and a necktie. The jewelry is stuff I have lying around. The odd eyed American Girl doll had no hair, so hair was arranged for the photos. In some photos her eyebrows have been repainted gold. Her red mop hair is a curtain tie-back. The “blood” is spilt Deborah Lippmann “Ruby Red Slippers” nail polish which happened to fall out of a box and break, spattering all over my floor beautifully. I took most of these photos to apply for a doll styling job I wasn't precisely qualified for … in the end, I did not get the job, but I love the world I created here.
